Birthday girl Kensli Davis was left in hysterics when her mom ordered a Moana-themed cake for her birthday…but store staff misheard the Disney princess’s name as ‘marijuana,’ and decorated it accordingly (Pictures: Kensli Davis/Facebook, Walt Disney Corporation)
A woman was given a marijuana-themed birthday cake for her daughter’s party after store staff misheard the word ‘Moana’. The mom went to the store near her home in Midgeville, Georgia, to order a cake decorated with the Hawaiian heroine of the 2016 Disney movie for daughter Kensli Davis’s 25th birthday. She took it home, and was stunned to open the box and discover the store had misheard ‘Moana’ as marijuana and decorated it accordingly. It came complete with weed-green icing, a huge marijuana leaf, and a picture of an unofficial green My Little Pony-type cartoon character with a weed leaf emblazoned on its hind quarters. Luckily, Kensli, who works as a bartender at a Longhorn Steak House saw the funny side, and shared it on social media, before eating it anyway.
She wrote: ‘I haven’t had a chance to tell y’all about our experience this weekend with my birthday cake. ‘So my mama called and ordered me a cake telling them how much I loved Moana. (Because really I do) Well needless to say these people thought she said marijuana. ‘ That ice cream cake was still good though.’ Kensli’s post sparked widespread laughter online, and has since been shared 10,000 times. Moana sees the titular character set out on a dangerous quest to return a precious treasure to her home island, with the teenage character voiced by Auli’i Cravalho.
